Caye Caulker

About a 4 hr journey from San Ignacio to Caye Caulker including a 1 hr water taxi ride. What a beautiful place! Caye Caulker is warm and beautiful and not that busy. Lunch was at Maggie's Sunset Kitchen (creole shrimp and conch ceviche). On our first afternoon we had a tour of the town by bike given by a local school group. The Bike with Purpose program is supported by G's nonprofit organization.
Then we watched sunset at the beautiful Iguana Reef Beach Bar (and fed the stingrays, which we learned later we're actually not supposed to do) and had dinner at Swings (sweet and sour shrimp). It was a nice evening, but I had a bit too much and turned in early.
In the evening we had dinner at Roy's Blue Water Grill (jerk fish) and drinks at Sports Bar (the only bar in town). We almost won the trivia night but lost it on the last question. Our night finished with beers on our hotel rooftop terrace with games.
The next morning (3rd) I went across the street from our hotel to Namaste Cafe to do yoga and have brunch. Then had a chill afternoon at Iguana Reef Beach and the Sip n Dip (a bar with swim up tables). Then we had a 3 hr sunset catamaran cruise with our group. It was so much fun and included lots of rum punch and coconut curry lobster dinner. It was a beautiful boat and evening and we celebrated leader Sal's 50th tour with candles on a couple of mini-cakes.
