S. Cristobal de Las Casas
About 8 hr travel day (including stops) in a private minibus. The entire ride was twisty and with many bumpy roads. Also lots of stops for construction. Upon arrival, I immediately had covid antigen tests taken (required for our entry to Guatemala) and then had a late lunch/early supper at Restaurante La Lupe. I had delicious quesadillas. Then an orientation walk around town. There are two main pedestrian thoroughfares filled with restaurants and shops. Then went to two markets, one selling sweets and amber, the other a general artisan market. Finally, drinks including tequila in the hotel lobby to cap the night.
