Panajacel

6 Sep Written By Samuel Gadd

11.5 hr travel day. Started at 6am. One private van in Mexico to the Guatemala border, then a walk across the border to meet a private minibus to take us the rest of the way. The part of Guatemala we drove through today is very mountainous, it was a day full of abrupt turns, speed bumps, and potholes. Panajachel is a town on Lake Atitlán, which is surrounded by mountains and volcanos. We're at about 1600m elevation.. I had delicious banana pancakes for breakfast at Deli Jasmin. Then wandered the town for a bit before getting ready for our next destination.
